Genealogy Software

At last month’s meeting, there was great interest among members to learn about genealogy software. Member Jacquie Beveridge shares the following link for the Heredis software program (for Windows and Mac). View it HERE. GEDMATCH.com
SGS researcher Pat Rongey has received several inquiries on how to covert and compare DNA test results from different companies.  She suggests using GEDmatch.com.  This free website provides ‘analysis and comparison of raw autosomal DNA data from genetic genealogy testing companies’. View the Why Use Gedmatch  video on and learn how to upload your DNA data to possibly identify additional matches from people who have used a different DNA test company than you, and uploaded their DNA data to Gedmatch.
