Family Tree Maker Tip
SGS library researcher Pat Rongey suggests changing the Index sort to obtain the results you’re looking for in Family Tree searches. By default, the index displays people in your tree sorted by Family, then Given Name. To change the search criteria, click the down arrow in the Sort field and select Birth Date, Marriage Date, or Death Date. Pat recommends using ‘Birth Date’ to check for duplicate entries. For any questions, contact Pat either by email or on Tuesdays, 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. in the library’s Genealogy room.
