Of Genealogical Interest

Vice President Jacquie Beveridge shares news of a free webinar on Wednesday, 2/21 at
6 p.m. The Southern California Genealogical Society’s presentation features Thomas MacEntee on ‘Navigating the Seven C’s of Genealogy’.  Register HERE.

The Presentation:
“Do genealogy “resolutions” really work? How about setting genealogy “goals” or “themes” instead? I’ve developed a list of seven “themes” to guide me this year and hopefully I can institute these as general “rules to do genealogy by” over the next few years. I think the themes cover most areas of concern for every family historian, whether you’ve been at this for some time or you are just starting.”

A Good Local Read
Member Pat Rongey recently discovered the book ‘Westlake Girl’ by Frieda Wampler (printed 2016) with a chapter on our local Florence area.  The book can be located in the library’s Siuslaw Room on the west wall, in the top right area.
