- Two introductory family history classes will be held at the library this month.
‘Finding Your Roots’ Friday, Oct 13 (1 – 3 p.m.); and
‘Finding Records’ Friday, Oct 27 (1 – 3 p.m.).
Both classes are free, but limited to 12 participants. Contact the library’s Reference Desk (541-997-3132) to register. - Genealogy Basics Course: Tracing Your Family’s Roots
Mike Allen will be teaching an introductory, three-week genealogy course at Lane Community College beginning October 26th. Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. He will demonstrate how to create a family tree, use online and office research tools and methods of expanding your family tree research through DNA. The class will involve lecture and interactive discussions. Anyone interested can register at the college. Cost: $20.25
