Finding Your Roots
Kevin Mittge will be teaching a beginning genealogy class on how to start searching for your ancestors and family history.  The free class is scheduled for Friday, April 22nd, 1 to 3 PM, in the library’s Siuslaw Room.  Sign up at the library Reference Desk or send an email to ref@siuslawlibrary.org.   Class size is limited to 10.   

Merilee’s Research Tip
SGS member Merilee Mulvey shares a link from Ancestry.com’s blog for finding women in WWII records.  This is a helpful article for anyone researching a mother, grandmother, or other female family member during that time period.  View the post HERE.

Other News
The April SGS monthly meeting will feature a presentation by Merilee Mulvey.  She’ll take us on her ‘ Genealogical Adventure’ – of researching a Canadian Expeditionary Force WWI medal and tracking down the owner’s family.
