Finding Your Roots on PBS
Member Merilee Mulvey informs us in the “new season of Finding Your Roots, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. traces the ancestral trails of 28 new guests including Senator John McCain, Gloria Steinem, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Neil Patrick Harris, Maya Lin, and Mia Farrow”. Season 3 premieres January 5 on PBS at 8/7c.

Free Databases This Month
The New England Historic Genealogical Society is allowing unlimited free access through January 31, 2016, to historic databases for:

Massachusetts (Vital Records 1841 – 1910)
New Hampshire (Births to 1901, Deaths and Marriages to 1937) 
Vermont (Births, Marriages and Deaths to 2008)

SGS Recycle Fundraising Program
The Recycle program continues to be a rewarding project for fundraising while making a positive ecological impact.  The program has raised $610.65 for SGS.  In 2015, from the items collected in our recycle drop boxes, the following resources were prevented from entering landfills:  Steel (23 lbs); Aluminum (4 lbs); Plastic (51 lbs); and Nylon (3 lbs).
