Greener Florence Award‘A Greener Florence Award’ – The Siuslaw Genealogy Society is mentioned in the city’s Focus on Florence newsletter (page 4), “recognized for efforts in reusing, recycling, reducing, and composting.”  The Community Organization Award was presented to SGS Treasurer, Pat Rongey at the April 22nd City Council meeting.  View our progress on the Recycle Fundraiser project.

Summer Genealogy Fest – August 2 at Lane Community College, Eugene.  Featured speaker is Thomas W. Jones. 

Genealogy Room Research Assistants – Special thanks to SGS members dedicating their time as research assistants in the Siuslaw Library.  They are available for anyone seeking help with family history research on Sunday (Pat Ness) 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.; Monday (Jacquie Beveridge) 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.; and Tuesday (Pat Rongey) 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.  Any SGS member interested in participating in this valuable and rewarding service?  Email here.

    There is now a recycle box for electronic products and ink cartridges at Greentrees East in the Clubhouse next to the Pill bottle recycle bin.
