Merilee Mulvey will introduce us to the story behind the first Rhododendron Pageant of Florence in 1908. We’ll hear how it all began, and the role of 3 young ladies – the festival’s first queen, the Indian girl who recited a poem at the event and her teacher who wrote the poem.
